I was in China Fall 2008, was an extraordinary trip, starting with the detail that in my life I never imagined I ever would go that far. I can say that Beijing is a huge city, with heavy traffic of cars and bicycles, there is little order and is not well planned and that really has no architectural appeal and harmony and it is difficult, the truth!
What I find interesting comment about Beijing are some details.
The negative
First, pollution is impressive. I’m from Mexico City and I thought until then that nothing would impress me in that aspect. I was wrong.
Second, the bitchy and rude to the Chinese is something that really surprised also to come from the City I thought I was vaccinated for that matter, but it definitely was not the case, was astonished to see how pushing me in the street to I first go anywhere, how constantly spitting on the street, how to throw the trash without any regard and of course I saw the face three times one was in a taxi / bicycle stupidly took before checking if given the official tour around the Forbidden City and Huttong at the end the experience was terrible. He wanted to charge more and the tour was truly a fraud.
Later I repeated the experience in a taxi / bicycle officer and there I lost the bad taste was a delightful visit with a couple of stops to enter a traditional Chinese house and some places of interest in Huttong and the price was low . Again the taxi driver was taken to the temple of heaven “was done as he had forgotten that the exit and gave me a vueltota on the peripheral course did not forget to collect
The Positive
The archaeological sites, palaces, the Imperial City and the parks are something definitely worth being at least once in life! Are beautiful! The parties are in a state visited considerably well considering the scheme and the general neglect of non-tourist parts of town. The ticket for access to these places is quite low and with good weather and a little clear weather get a lovely view. The explanations of the monuments are written in multiple languages and are very comprehensive, is anything really worth a lot of grief.
Each site is set to traditional music and a little luck you can play a free show being presented in the archaeological zone.
My favorites were definitely the Forbidden City, Summer Palace and Temple of Heaven.
