"Chang Cheng", so called Chinese pinyin, one of the few wonders built by the hand of man, who came to today and is known worldwide as "The Great Wall of China" or "Long fortress" considered a monumental fortress of old, created to protect the empire, in the third century BC C., to fend off attacks from the Mongols and Manchurian.

Its origins date back to the period of Warring States (480-221 BC), built in sections in strategic areas, generating their unification during the reign of the First Emperor "Ching Dynasty," by which you can understand that it is built at one time, reaching its greatest extent during the Ming Dynasty.
The concept of creation was not the intention of preventing the passage of man, but the animal, thus placing the invaders at a disadvantage.
Its extension is what gives the words of wonder which is truly building long, with 7,300 km from east to west, starting in Shanghai, (Gulf of Zhili) to Jiayu, Gansu province today.

Telling from the border area of Korea (Yalu River) to the Gobi Desert, the route is 6,400 km across, Gansu, Hebei, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Jilin, Liaoning, Inner Mongolia, Ningxia, Beijing, Qinghai, Shaanxi, Shandong, Shanxi, Sichuan, Tianjin and Xinjiang.
Its design is based on a series of walls that were built during different periods or dynasties, and more than 1,000 years.
The Great Wall of China, was honored as "World Heritage" by UNESCO in 1987.

In turn been honored by the election of 100 million voters as part of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World, 7 July 2007.
