Do you need a wok to cook Chinese food?
You don’t need one, but the shape of a wok can be very useful for stir-frying!

Woks are Just Fun
You may not need a wok to cook Asian food but doesn’t it make one fell a bit like an Asian cook when using some of the proper tools?

I prefer to use a wok…
for stir-fries and foods that need to be cooked quickly with high heat concentrated in a small central space at the bottom and like the other pots for food that is cooked slowly at lower temperatures.

Wok or not?
I don’t have a wok and can’t afford one right now, so use a skillet. Not the best way, but it works.

Wok or Not?
I have often used a large heavy frypan or at least one that can take high heat. It works just fine.

DO YOU NEED A WOK TO COOK CHINESE FOOD
I don’t believe that you “need” a Wok but it does make the preparation and complete cooking of ingredients much more delectable. The only problem with a Wok is storing it in a pantry because of its’ size.
